In 2025, I made the decision to follow my dream and put a familiar face on holistic self-care. After more than 25 years in my career, I stepped away and opened Octavia’s Natural Experience — a space rooted in natural hair care, intentional movement, and self-maintenance practices that actually support your body’s natural vitality.

My hair journey runs just as deep.

When I read The Autobiography of Malcolm X, I began embracing my natural texture and wearing sculpted braids and twists for over a decade. Eventually, I relaxed my hair — and within months, it began breaking off. That season taught me that when we disconnect from what’s natural to us, something always feels off.

After attending an Alvin Ailey performance that reignited that same feeling of cultural pride and freedom, I made the decision to lock my hair. That choice wasn’t just about style — it was about identity

Today, I am a licensed Barber, Certified Amazon Lock Stylist, and Certified Sisterlocks™ Consultant. More importantly, I am someone who believes you can embrace your natural texture, feel confident and professional, and care for your body in ways that prevent and ease pain over time.
